On July 19th, a group of miscreants, led by Cory Baran, will roam the streets of London. They are being encouraged by Baran to ignore traffic laws, scream and growl at pedestrians, and attack cars.
London Zombie Attack, a group created after Baran was thrown out of another event planing group, is taking it very seriously. “Zombies don’t follow the rules, and if people are willing to dress up for a zombie walk, then they’re hard-core about it”, he said.
His reason for breaking away from the other group, London Zombie Walk, are very clear. The last zombie walk last October was terrible.
Beware, citizens of London, the undead are rising and they’ll soon be shuffling city streets.
London Zombie Attack, a faction of maverick zombie aficionados that doesn’t believe in obeying the law, will hit the streets this summer.
“Zombies don’t follow the rules, and if people are willing to dress up for a zombie walk, then they’re hard-core about it,” says Cory Baran, the group’s creator. “Some people were ‘raah-ring’ at civilians and the leaders actually told them to stop and stay in line or go home,” he says.
“That’s why people were rebelling and everyone that attended pretty much hated it.”
London police officer, Sgt. Tom O’Brien will be on-hand to enforce the law at the event. “No one is above the law with regards to interfering with traffic as a pedestrian,” he says. “Although police can’t be everywhere, this would be something that we would certainly deal with by way of appropriate enforcement.”
Also, Bayside Productions is filming a part of an independent zombie movie during the event. It’s working title is Forest City of the Undead.
This event could define future zombie walks all over the world, so stay tuned for a follow-up story after the festivities. The event starts with a zombie picnic in Harris Park at 2 p.m.
