Return of the West Nile Virus

The West Nile Virus is upon us again, and with it the risk of a zombie outbreak. Not just a simple virus, this complex infection comes in a variety of forms. Most experts will have you believe that even if the rare occurrence of death by the West Nile occurs, reanimation of the host is impossible.

There have already been suspicious reports of “outbreaks” of a disease that either causes no symptoms, causes a light fever (20%), or causes severe meningitis or encephalitis (less than 1%) [source: cdc.gov]. So that begs a question: why is there so much attention given to a disease caused by the bite of a bug, when rabies cause more deaths in a year?

mosquitoThat’s because they are hiding something. There is already speculation that the West Nile virus can mutate. Have some of these reported deaths actually involve reanimation? Hospitals will usually perform a type of autopsy before declaring cause of death. This involves the partial destruction of the brain, preventing a zombie from rising. So the safest place to be for a patient to avoid turning is in the hospital, which is the only place that someone can be diagnosed with a certain virus, a place at which doctors perform autopsies, which destroys the brain.

How about the reported cases that don’t involve being diagnosed prior to the brain being damaged. There are none in the news or reported to the CDC. The fact is, there is not much being said about the possible “after-effects” of this infection, and the fact that it is not being addressed, even in jest, suggests a cover-up.

Regardless of the possibility of reanimation, it is important that you protect yourself against the West Nile. Prevention is simple: make sure you are disposing of any standing water around the house and wear mosquito repellent. Also, don’t go messing around with wild animals.
