Zombies Invade the Anime Expo!

The Anime Expo (AX), 4th of July weekend at the Los Angeles Convention Center, was host to a myriad of characters. This event wouldn’t work if it weren’t for the fans of the genre, and they were out in full force this year. Among some of the more impressive costumes this year was Samus Aran from the video game Metroid.

Representing zombies in force was the zombie nurse that was featured in the Silent Hill franchise. There were also zombie slayers, zombie soldiers, and classic zombies shambling about the convention waiting to attack unsuspecting cosplayers (costume players). To protect the attendees was a ninja/zombie hunter that stalked potential victims for signs of infection before pouncing on them for the kill.

While observing this story unfold, I couldn’t help but to ponder on the subject of zombie walks. If there was one place that was made for a zombie walk, it would be AX. They already have cosplay parades and a masquerade, which features some of the most talented cosplayer artists, so why not a group of shambling zombies that "threaten" the event with a zombie outbreak?

Tell me, loyal readers and zombie aficionados: would this be something worth pursuing for future cons?
