Stills From Resident Evil: Afterlife Released

Yesterday, Capcom, the creators of the Resident Evil game franchise, released some of the first movie stills from the upcoming Sony picture, Resident Evil: Afterlife. This is the fourth installment in the film series and is written and directed by Paul W. S. Anderson. Milla Jovovich reprises her role of Alice and Ali Larter returns as Claire Redfield. The stills give us a little taste of the film – we even catch a glimpse of Chris Redfield and Wesker. The movie is sure to deliver some of the good ol’ creepy moments as seen by the Axe Man. Don’t want to run into him any time soon…

No release date was announce however, IMDB.com states it as September 10, 2010. The film will also be shown in 3D. Enjoy!

Zombie MMO Announced!

Jeff Strain, formerly of NCSoft, announced today the formation of Undead Labs, his new Seattle studio, and the development of the first MMOZ (massively multiplayer online zombie) game for consoles. Strain has worked for companies like Blizzard Entertainment, the company responsible for games like World of Warcraft (WoW), and Starcraft and Diablo, both games that Strain has worked on. In 2000, he formed ArenaNet and produced Guild Wars. NCSOft acquired ArenaNet in 2002 where Strain worked until forming Undead Labs in 2009.

David “Grasshopper” Carradine dies

David Carradine, best known for his lead role as Kwai Chang Caine in “Kung Fu,” died on June 3rd, 2009. After fighting back a horde of Thai zombies the “Grasshopper” went back to his hotel to “take care of business” with two ropes and Thai hooker. A yellow rope was found around his neck and a black one around his genitals. It is believed that the “women” was a zombie hooker out for revenge.

Bea Arthur Passes Away

Beatrice Arthur, 86, passed away at her home today. Her family was on hand as the strong-willed actress rose from the dead for one last refrain of “What’ll I Do?”. Soon after, she was finally put to rest.

Best known for her role of Dorothy Zbornak in the late 80′s early 90′s sitcom “The Golden Girls”", Bea Arthur performed in countless stage productions and musicals throughout her life. She won a Tony for her role in the muscial “Mame” in 1966 and played featured roles in “Fiddler on the Roof” and “The Floating Lightbulb”.

She broke into television in the 70′s as the title role in the CBS comedy “Maude”. She also played a singing bartender in the Mos Eisley Cantina Lounge in the “Star Wars Holiday Special” .

She will be missed…

Capcom Confirms Dead Rising 2

This morning game developer, Capcom, confirmed that they are indeed working on Dead Rising 2, the sequel to the 2006 game Dead Rising.

Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today confirmed that Dead Rising™ 2 is in development for three different gaming platforms: the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft®, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC. The sequel to the 1.5 million-plus selling Dead Rising™, Dead Rising 2 will take the franchise to a new level of zombie-killing fun with tens of thousands of zombies, the all new gambling paradise of Fortune City to explore and conquer plus a host of new in-game objects that can all be used as deadly weapons to stave off the zombie assault.

Dead Rising 2 is set several years after the infamous zombie invasion of Willamette. Unfortunately, the zombie virus was not contained at the conclusion of Dead Rising, spreading unchecked throughout the United States and Dead Rising 2 depicts a country where zombie outbreaks continue to strike.

Dead Rising 2 is being developed in partnership with up and coming Canadian developer Blue Castle Games. A number of members from the original Dead Rising team will be working alongside Blue Castle Games throughout the development process, including Capcom’s global head of research and development, Keiji Inafune, who as the game’s Producer will play an active role in the project.
